Rebuilding:  We can do a complete rebuild of a component or of your whole machine.  A rebuild consists of disassembly of all machine components.  All items of every component will be reworked or replaced to be made to a new condition.  All belts, bearings and seals will be replaced with new parts regardless of their condition.  All plain ways will be ground and hand-scraped.  When the machine is completed it will be aligned to factory tolerances or better.  We can add or replace way material when required.  We can rebuild any machine from a small bench top lathe to a Gantry mill and everything in between.  We can rebuild production or custom-made machines.  All work performed by Studwell is guaranteed for one year.

Retrofitting:  Retrofit can mean anything from converting your old D.C. drives to modern A.C. drives or converting your old manual machine to a completely modern CNC machine.  We can take your old N.C. or CNC machine and update it with a new control.  Not everyone needs a CNC machine.  We can and have retrofitted manual machines to do custom production work.  If you have a need please call us to discuss the solution that will meet your needs. 

Field Service:  Studwell has the knowledge, tools, portable lifting equipment, and precision measuring instruments to perform field service on all types of machinery.  Call us to get your machine tool back in proper working order and ensure it stays in good condition.

Installation & Relocation:  Moving your entire company or just one piece of equipment can be a daunting task.  We will work directly with your machine mover or we will be glad to do a turnkey move contracting our own movers.  We have formed an alliance with only top quality vendors in the area and can perform complete relocation including foundation, design and construction, painting, rigging and electrical. Studwell can customize your machine foundation to fit your location or machine and will supervise the construction of it.  We have designed and over-seen the design of some very complex machine foundations with concrete as thick as fifteen feet and as large as 500 yards of concrete.

Alignment with lasers: We have equipment and expertise to align your machine tools using the latest laser equipment provided by Optidyne.  We have used this equipment to align machines as close as .000025” on the length of the travel.  This equipment is used both at our facility as well as in the field.

DRO: We are capable of repairing all DRO’s.  We are also an authorized AcuRite dealer.

Service Work

Studwell can produce quotations for rebuilding your machine at your request. Occasionally we will have to send out a consultant.

Studwell does not quote repair work.  Our terms for service repair work are hourly portal to portal.

• $105.00/hour straight time per man portal to portal
• $157.50/hour overtime and Saturday
• $210.00/hour Sunday
• No holidays
• Parts are billed at cost plus 20% plus shipping and taxes
• Sublet charges are billed at cost plus 20%

Travel expenses for overnight trips

• Hotel, meals, car rental and shipping are billed at cost plus 20%
